‘Tis the season of giving. One of the best things about this time of year is that so many people think of how they can help make their community a better place—and help those who may need that extra generosity. That’s why CENTURY 21® offices across the country recognize “Hot Cocoa Day” (December 13th) by holding a fundraiser for sending kids to Easter Seals camps across the country.
At CENTURY 21® Canada, we’ve supported Easter Seals since 1979 and, since then, have given more than $117 million. This year alone, CENTURY 21® Canada has raised $449,995.38 and the year isn’t over yet!
We’re also proud to connect Easter Seals with REW (Nanaimo-based Real Estate Webmasters). Inspired by CENTURY 21® Canada’s long-standing relationship with Easter Seals, REW is generously donating $21,000 to Easter Seals. The founder, Morgan Carey, saw Easter Seals National Ambassador Brandon Liston speak at the C21® Canada Conference and learned how the Kids to Camp program helps kids and families living with disabilities.
And the timing couldn’t be better. Due to a declining support base and less philanthropic giving in general, two Easter Seals camps in British Columbia have already announced they won’t operate next year. Families must now try to find another alternative which means a lot of children will not have the opportunity to go to camp. These camps shape the lives of children who attend them and allows children with disabilities to discover their abilities.
“Camp is more than a game-changer. Camp is a life-changer” says Liston.
As CENTURY 21® franchises across Canada helped support the Kids to Camp program in their provinces with their events, they worked to change lives one cup of cocoa at a time.
