The property

A stately tudor with a marble kitchen, Austrian crystal chandeliers and a mere nine bathrooms and ten parking spaces.

And the kitchen isn’t the only thing here that’s clad in marble. Here’s the foyer:

No Bridle Path mansion would complete without a wood-panelled library:

All the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms.

The owners apparently didn’t want to stage all five bedrooms, so use your imagination here:

It’s a big house:

The history

The sellers bought the property brand new in 1991. After living in the home for over 20 years, they decided to downsize and bought a condo downtown. Before putting the house on the market, they overhauled the bathrooms and the kitchen:

The fate

The buyers are a family who work in the area. They were looking for a larger home and a shorter commute.

The sale

The agent had a hard time getting offers near the asking price—a situation he says is common in the Bridle Path area, where high list prices scare off all but the wealthiest buyers. The property did manage to attract three offers, though. The sellers went with the highest, at $480,000 under asking.

By the numbers:

• $4,100,000
• $24,530.32 in property taxes (2015)
• 105.83 by 137-foot lot
• 17 days on the market
• 10 parking spaces
• 9 bathrooms
• 5 + 2 bedrooms
