He had to wait two years, but billionaire Alex Shnaider has finally managed to find a buyer for his custom mansion at 10 High Point Road. The 24,000-square-foot home, built on 2.3 acres of Bridle Path real estate in 2010, has a spacious, richly decorated interior. Its amenities include a colonnaded ballroom with space for 100 guests, a dressing room so large it spans two floors, and a poolhouse with its own lounge area and bar.

Shnaider is the Russian-born co-founder of Midland Group, a company that made its initial fortune by investing in ex-Soviet steel mills. He’s also the chairman of Talon International, the developer behind Toronto’s troubled Trump International Hotel and Tower, which has been mired in lawsuits brought by unit owners who say they were misled by Talon’s marketing materials. The tower is reportedly up for sale.

Shnaider’s mansion on High Point Road—which is titled in the name of his wife, Simona—was first listed for sale in June 2014, with an asking price of $28.8 million. This past June, Shnaider dropped the asking price to $26.8 million. The property sold two months later, in early August, for $22 million. His real estate agent, Elise Kalles, couldn’t be reached for comment. Because the sale hasn’t closed yet, the buyer’s identity isn’t public information.
